Gorgeous weekend/lady

Absolutely beautiful weekend here. Cold and clear and sunny with that beautiful autumn light in the afternoon.

We took it pretty easy and did a bunch around the house. Mindy kept sick-fall '09 going with a 24-hour bug that thankfully seems to have passed.

We ventured out this morning and visited the zoo. It was kind of chilly and there weren't very many people there, but the animals were on full display (for a change).

Ellie got really excited about seeing all her favorites.

Hope you're having a great autumn too!

Ready for fall

Which is a good thing since it's going to be 34 degrees here tonight.

Brrrrr, dude.

As we likely love you too...

You shall also benefit from Julie and Eric's lack of proximity.*

Enjoy.

*And my excellent singing.

Just hanging out, looking like a big kid

Consider yourself warned, dangerous levels of gorgeousness were reached today.

Continuing along a theme...

Ellie's feeling MUCH better. Grammy and Poppy S. took great care of her this weekend.*

Which was important because last week Ellie's terrible flu turned into an ear infection and then that turned into a ruptured ear drum.

Poor kiddo.

Like I said, she's doing much better now though.

*While we were in Portland and Mindy was sick as a dog with terrible food poisoning. Sigh... So much for that whole vacation plan.

Um, okay, so the pictures Curt took are about 10,000 times better...

We had a great time at Ethan's Run

Once again, Ian, Megon and Cameron put on a really wonderful event.

Lots of fun and a lot of money raised for Seattle Children's.

Eleanor's already training for next year...

Not giving up on summer yet...

So today was Ellie's first day of "school"

It's daycare, but we're calling it school to make ourselves feel better about the astounding cost of "tuition."

She leaves with a degree, right?

Eleanor did great. She was super excited to meet all the other kids, play with the cool new toys and jump right in for activities (this morning was art).

She's an awesome kid and definitely ready for all the new stuff to see and learn.

And she fared far better with the drop off and than Min and I.

Okay, me.

Here are a few gorgeous back-to-"school" pics.

Sigh...

Ethan's Run - Year 2

It's time for the second annual Ethan's Run. If you recall, the fun run/walk is a fundraiser for Seattle Children's Hospital and a tribute to the memory of Ian and Megon's son, Ethan.

The event is next Sunday at Seward Park. Min, Ellie and I will be there and we'd love to see you there too. It's a really nice day and a really wonderful cause.

Check out more info at Ethansrun.com

Really hope to see you there!

Seriously, we're terrible at the family photo thing...

One of these days we're going to remember to have somebody take a picture of all of us.

Back from Les Bois

Ellie, Min and I had an awesome time in Boise. It was great seeing old friends and showing Eleanor around my former stomping grounds.*

We got to stay with Matt, Heidi, Ellery and the newest arrivals, Max and Sam.

It was really interesting to see the kids in comparison to when Matt and Heidi brought Ellery to Seattle last August.

Eleanor's close to the same age that Ellery was then.

And Max and Sam are pretty much the age that Ellie was.

The twins are super cute and Ellery has turned from baby to full-on kid.

Min, Matt, Heidi and I are all just one year older. Sigh...

*Not much stomping was actually done.

I know, I know...

Bad blogger.

I'll take some pics and post them soon!

Here are a few recent ones to tide you over...*

*Unless you're on Facebook, then sorry for the repeat.
