Ellie's 7-month checkup

So Ellie's 7-months old now (okay, 7 months, 1 week, two days), but you probably knew that. That meant it was time for us to go to the doctor again. Most of the time you go at 6-months, but since we started shots in LA and the system there is slightly different than here in Seattle, we had to wait an extra month.

All is good. Ellie's doing great and growing like a little bean. She's now 15lbs 9oz and 26 and 3/4 inches. That puts her in the 70th percentile for height, but drops her down a bit for weight. The doctor wasn't concerned though and said it's pretty normal for "catch-down" growth to occur after 6 months. That means that after growing faster than normal for 6 months, babies sometimes slow down after that. So it's tall and lean for now. Though not for a lack of eating.

Ellie's crawling and sitting and grabbing and other array of baby behaviors are looking perfect and she's now cleared for multiple solid feedings a day and... wait for it... water out of a sippy cup.

Wowsers!

Ellie had to have three more shots and an oral med dose as well. There were some tears, but things calmed down faster than the last few times. Oh, and Ellie did well too.

The short story is that little lady is doing great. She's amazing as ever and all the new stuff she does each day is pretty much blowing our minds.

We'll keep you posted...
