Especially when you're with these two.

The aforementioned sippy cup

Um, yeah.

Day One - no interest in cup at all.

Day Two - this...

Kind of impressed.

Goodbye Summer...

Ellie's 7-month checkup

So Ellie's 7-months old now (okay, 7 months, 1 week, two days), but you probably knew that. That meant it was time for us to go to the doctor again. Most of the time you go at 6-months, but since we started shots in LA and the system there is slightly different than here in Seattle, we had to wait an extra month.

All is good. Ellie's doing great and growing like a little bean. She's now 15lbs 9oz and 26 and 3/4 inches. That puts her in the 70th percentile for height, but drops her down a bit for weight. The doctor wasn't concerned though and said it's pretty normal for "catch-down" growth to occur after 6 months. That means that after growing faster than normal for 6 months, babies sometimes slow down after that. So it's tall and lean for now. Though not for a lack of eating.

Ellie's crawling and sitting and grabbing and other array of baby behaviors are looking perfect and she's now cleared for multiple solid feedings a day and... wait for it... water out of a sippy cup.

Wowsers!

Ellie had to have three more shots and an oral med dose as well. There were some tears, but things calmed down faster than the last few times. Oh, and Ellie did well too.

The short story is that little lady is doing great. She's amazing as ever and all the new stuff she does each day is pretty much blowing our minds.

We'll keep you posted...

A looooooooong overdue movie

I know, I know, it's been months. I'm sorry.

But this is a good one so hopefully that will help make up for the delay.

Behold Ellie's first week of solid foods...

PS - She's seven months old today. Can you believe it?*

PPS - This video is all from about three weeks ago. Just so you know.

*We cannot.

Not much to report

Just lots of... well, this

Ellie's been eating lots of foods. Bananas, apples, peaches, sweet potatoes and squash are all big hits. Rice cereal has even gotten a second taste.

Sleeping patterns have been a little erratic, but with teething (lots of drool, still no teeth) and all the new foods running through her system we can't be too surprised.

Sorry we haven't updated much this week. Dad's been really busy with work.

We'll strive to do better.

My Grammy keeps finding cute things for me

And apparently I'm a little shocked about it.

Let's get nice and tired before we try this sleep thing again

From this adorable picture...

You'd never guess that Ellie spent pretty much the entire night crying.

She's tricky like that.

So who's ready for teething to end?

For the record...

Mom did more than just take pictures and feed Eleanor this weekend.

Exciting Seattle Weekend

One of the best things about out-of-town guests is that you end up doing the fun hometown stuff you never get around to when you live somewhere.
