Smiles, then skepticism, then sort of a smile.
Gorgeousness throughout...

Eleanor's 2-month update...
Technically we're a little late and it's a 9-week update, but we didn't have our 2-month pediatrician appointment until today, so hopefully you'll understand.
The official word is that Ellie's doing great! So it's not just our uber-biased parental rose-colored glasses. And we agree, Ellie's been absolutely amazing as of late.
She's doing a really great job of sleeping at night and is on a pretty regular schedule of just waking up twice a night for feedings (at the same exact times too, kind of crazy). She's also been very responsive with the aforeblogged smiles and expressions. It's amazing to watch her start to express her moods and personality more and more. We think she's on the edge of laughter, but only time will tell. Expect many movies when it does.
Ellie's now eleven pounds, two ounces and 23 inches tall/long. That puts her in the 50th percentile for growth and 75th for height.
But it wasn't all fun measurements and charting at the doctor today. No, today came Eleanor's first shots. I'd sort of operated under the naive belief that a parent's attitude would shape the child's experience with injections. If we were positive and calm, she'd be just fine.
Not so much.
I can unequivocally assure you that injections hurt babies. By the sound of it, a lot. We were trying to comfort Ellie through the shots when she let loose a shriek that I sincerely believe possessed the power to shatter glass.* Eleanor was none too happy, but mom managed to calm her down with a little of the magic elixir we call "breastmilk."
Ellie's going through a little post-immunization*** unhappiness now, but she's being a trooper. Here she is when we got home for the doctor, looking at us with a newfound mistrust.
And here are her newly-pierced, beautiful little legs.
Ellie's resting comfortably now. Mom, on the other hand, is neck-deep in Finals prep.**** In only three short weeks Min will be done with Law School for good. Ellie and I cannot wait! Until then though, it's going to be a lot of long days and late nights. Mindy asked me to apologize on her behalf for being a bit incommunicado until May 8th.
After that, you're free to be furious.
Hope all is well with all of you and good luck during Finals to our other Law School readers!
*And eardrums.**
**And parental hearts. Sigh.
***Or is it vaccine? I'm never sure.
****Law School, not NBA.

Ellie Hanging Out WIth Mom
Lots of smiles and sticking her tongue out until dad came home, opened the front door and ruined it all. Bad dad!

In the interest of modesty...
We focused more on the drying than the bathing, but cuteness reigns regardless.
Blog, YouTube, now all Ellie needs is a Facebook profile. Hmm...
